ABOUT KEY SALES, INC.

Key Sales was founded in Chicago in 1985, by Doug Piggot, as a Grocery Broker serving the Chicago

market. In the 1990’s, Key Sales shifted their focus from grocery to the perishable departments of

Retail Meat, Bakery, and Deli. With mergers and buyouts of smaller independent brokers, Key Sales

started expanding the coverage, developing relationships with UNFI Green Bay, Kenosha, and

Champaign, IL distribution centers. In the 2000’s, Key Sales, Inc. further expanded into the Midwest,

developing relationships with Associated Wholesale Grocers in Memphis, Nashville, and Springfield, MO.

In the 2010’s, Key Sales continued to expand into the remaining Associated Wholesale Grocers markets

of Oklahoma City, Kansas City, Pearl River LA, Norfolk, NE and Kenosha, WI.

In 2018, after working for Key Sales for twelve years, Gerry Bowman became President and

Majority Stockowner of Key Sales

Key Sales has continued to focus on Retail Meat, Bakery, and Deli perishables with a major focus on

being a dedicated perishable broker for all AWG Divisions as well as continued coverage of UNFI Green

Bay; UNFI Champaign; Jewel; and many smaller independent distribution centers in our geographic

territories.

With a bright future ahead for Key Sales we have laid out plans to be successful for many years to

come. The stockholders, Gerry Bowman, Keith Gehrke, and Tyler Porter have worked diligently to bring

multiple generations of employees to the ownership and our staff, ensuring our success for many years

to come.
